Tenderfoot Rider by C.D. Shelton

I had a hard time getting into this book.  It is slow going with much unnecessary details that rather than flesh out the story make it drawn out. The story is far fetched.  A city boy who has no idea of farming or ranching implements obvious improvements that the old ranchers had not though of and with no obvious source of capital.  Then after riding for four months he beats men who grew up in the saddle in races.  Through all this he loses a fiancé and has absolutely no emotional reaction or even thoughts about it. The character seems shallow and unbelievable.
