ABSALOM'S WAKE-PART TWO-BLOOD ON THE BEACH by Nancy A. Collins_Review

Review of Blood on the Beach (Absalom’s Wake Part Two) by Nancy A. Collins
5 stars

If you’ve read the first installment in this exciting, thrilling serial (“Gone a’Whaling”) DO NOT miss this entry! And if you haven’t read the first, why haven’t you? Ms. Collins wraps blood-and-gore in beautiful descriptive imagery (I’m still meditating on the beauty of the island) and makes us love it. Starting out with characterisations, we are soon propelled face-first into excitement, as poor Jonas (who is about as much a monster magnet as his namesake, Jonah of Biblical fame-for Jonas’ real name of course is Jonah, but you just can’t be a sailor and use that appellation). Edge-of-the-seat excitement: sharks, cannibalistic natives, whales (who are, after all, dangerous to attacking sailors), and cannibals whom none can identify (now those guys are REALLY SCARY) populate another action-filled adventure which is not to be overlooked!
